About the Role
The Board of Directors and Executive Director seek an experienced development professional to oversee the following: major gift & annual philanthropy and fundraising events, with a focus on leadership & major gift prospect management.
The Director of Development & Philanthropy (DDP) will have superb communication and leadership skills and be ready to learn and grow. The ideal candidate is committed to a mindset of excellence and quality in all they do.
Position Duties: What You’ll Be Doing!
Primary Responsibilities of the DDP (not limited to the following):
Manage major gift prospective supporters and donors. Build & foster relationships, cultivate, and solicit gifts from constituents including community members, individuals, and corporate/industry partners.
Responsible for sourcing new supporters, corporate donations, campaigns & major gifts.
Responsible for caring for our supporters and keeping them updated on their contribution’s impact.
Oversee all fundraising activities including annual and major gifts, fundraising events, and campaigns during planning, silent and public stages of such initiatives.
Campaign work will require regular partnership with the Executive Director and outside campaign counsel and articulation of initiatives to be funded and goals in written and oral form.
Organize and track activity using our project management system, Monday.com
Work jointly with related staff on special events to manage relationships with and solicit support from local businesses and corporations, and foundations as applicable.
Represent the organization at certain events and in the community at the request of the Executive Director.
Produce and deliver reports to internal leadership and Board of Directors demonstrating prospect and donor movement, annual & major gift goals, and progress on goals-to-date.
Campaign work will require regular reporting to the Executive Director and board in coordination with campaign consultants on progress and key activity.
Lead Work with Marketing on the production of all major events & campaign development.
Qualifications / Skills:
Previous major gift experience during the time of a campaign required.
Grant writing experience preferred, but not required.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. A comfort level with in-person and/or virtual engagement is required.
Strong leadership skills and having a “go-getter” attitude
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, and other windows-based software; experience with fundraising-specific software preferred
Excellent communication skills, and organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, delegation, and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to handle pressure and oversee various projects simultaneously
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
2-5 years of experience in fundraising/fund development, public relations, leadership in the nonprofit sector, or in sales; the combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree preferred
Experience in the film, media, or visual arts industries.
Proven success raising donations, fundraising, and building professional relationships.
This role is a supervisory role within the Concept Factory core team and will have direct reports as the team grows. This position reports directly to Allan Meade, Founder & Executive Director, and our Board of Directors.
This role may occasionally require traveling for business purposes.
This role is currently a volunteer position but has the possibility of becoming a paid Part-Time or
Full-Time role at the discretion and confirmation of the Board of Directors.
