About the Role

Position description:

The Director of Industry Programs (DIP) will envision, launch and oversee Concept Factory’s industry training, mentorship, and development program known as factoryadvance. Our factoryadvance program will be the name of Concept Factory’s official industry advancement program that serves as the umbrella for all our industry initiatives such as TMI: The Mentorship Initiative, FactoryVAULT, and our exclusive industry trainings and workshops.

Factoryadvance will be a recurring cohorted program and will accept a select number of visual storytellers via an application and approval process. The goal of factoryadvance is for those accepted to have access to exclusive trainings, professional mentorship, and opportunities to work with and complete commissioned projects for major industry partners, studios, and production companies by way of obtaining jobs and internships.

The DIP will seek to form new partnerships and collaborations with media and entertainment companies and key industry players such as producers, executives, screenwriters, actors, directors, showrunners, and more. This individual will leverage these partnerships and relationships to spearhead new industry initiatives and further develop the factoryadvance program for Concept Factory. Thinking of ways to always advance our factoryadvance participants’ industry careers is always the top priority for this role.


The DIP will work closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and other key team players to effectively execute this role. Their main responsibilities will range from forming industry relationships, to developing and overseeing Concept Factory’s factoryadvance industry development program for visual storytellers.

This critical team member will demonstrate strong vision, ownership, and maintain clear and concise communication across all levels of leadership. Their ability to be inventive, galvanize, create “something out of nothing,” and be a go-getter is essential to their success in this role. They are excellent and innovative problem solvers, dreamers, doers, demonstrate superb verbal and written communication skills, and strategic and tactical planning skills. They excel in creative development, thinks like a producer, and has wonderful “people skills” in addition to their extensive experience within the media and entertainment industry.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm, develop, and oversee Concept Factory’s factoryadvance program.

  • Outreach to and leverage relationships with media and entertainment key players, including directors, producers, assistants, agents, and executives.

  • Maintain relationships with key industry players and contacts through active engagement, communication, and acts of kindness.

  • Stay up-to-date with media and entertainment industry current events, practices, and new developments within film, television, online media, and animation by reading the trades and attending industry events.

  • Develop and execute, alongside key team players, factoryadvance’s sub-programs: TMI: The Mentorship Initiative, factoryCourse, and the FactoryVAULT.

  • Represent Concept Factory at industry-related events, conferences, and festivals when deemed necessary.

  • Serve as liaison between Concept Factory and industry/production companies involving closing deals, pitching stories, and negotiations.

  • Creates necessary spreadsheets, lists, documents, and other organizational systems to keep all work processes + contacts organized in a clear, concise format.

  • In partnership with Creative Director and/or designers, create necessary visual presentations, pitch decks, and/or other visual documents to be distributed to industry contacts.

  • Launch and participate in brainstorms, ideation sessions, and rallies for the development of new programs, initiatives, and plans.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • 4+ years relevant professional experience in the media and entertainment industry.

  • 3+ years of experience in a role related to producing, development, and/or agency experience.

  • 2+ years of experience using project management software preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence teams and partners.

  • Strong ability to be inventive, galvanize, and oversee a department.

  • A heart for people, our Christian values, and possess a servant-leader mindset.

  • Highly detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask.

  • A passion for visual arts, entertainment, and media industries and understanding its business impact.

  • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Doc, & Drive)

  • Understanding of the creative development process and what it takes to create, develop, and leverage professional relationships.

*Note: This position is remote (work-from-home) but may require occasional travel and reports directly to the Executive Director.
