About the Role

The Dir. of Marketing (DoM) is responsible for the implementation of fresh and creative marketing
strategies for Concept Factory, in addition to leading the marketing department. This individual not
only completes extensive research to identify new market opportunities, but also develops innovative
concepts, marketing plans, and strategies to promote brand awareness. The DoM utilizes marketing
tactics to promote Concept Factory events, initiatives, and overall brand in order to retain and attract
event attendees, community group patrons, and ultimately, new members.

This individual prepares extensive marketing plans, leads marketing brainstorm meetings, sets
pricing strategies, promo ideas, creates a calendar of marketing campaigns, sets the marketing
budget, and analyses the market and competitors. This individual is an innovative self-starter who
will help position Concept Factory to be seen as a top-tier brand and company.
The DoM will be an experienced professional in brand and marketing strategy specifically for
startups, and be passionate about advancing Concept Factory’s vision and communicated goals.

This position will require a candidate of strong leadership skills and someone who is able to cast
vision, take initiative, delegate, and take full ownership of their assigned role.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Detail and plan for what's coming up and what major events and/or initiatives need a marketing strategy, plan, and direction.

  • Take initiative in creating detailed marketing plans for all our events, workshops, and company initiatives or programs.

  • Provide strategic direction to the Social Media Manager (when filled) to help cast vision for social media strategies to promote social presence, engagement and growth.

  • Look at data from various advertising methods, and population groups, compile data, and discover potential gaps and market opportunities for the future development of on-going strategies.

  • Take charge in connecting with the right team members (or outside partners) in setting up + executing your marketing strategies and plan. That includes, but isn't limited to scheduling meetings to present your marketing plans, assigning deadlines or deliverables, etc.

  •  Stay in communication with the Executive Director, Director of Events, and Director of Industry Programs on what's going on and what marketing plans/tasks you're currently working on. Communicate deadlines, keep Airtable and calendar(s) keenly up-to-date, and stay organized at all times.

  • Participate in concept development and ideation of new marketing strategies alongside Executive Director, Director of Events, and other applicable team members.

  • Ensure that marketing projects are completed on time and marketing activities are assigned to appropriate team members.

  • Submit all design & flyer requests to the Creative Director (or current designer for team)

  • Plan for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of marketing initiatives and our brand image/voice.

  • Taking leadership and responsibility over areas that fall under marketing and promotions, including utilizing interns or apprentices to delegate tasks and carry out tasks, plans, and initiatives.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Proven success as a marketer and content strategist.

  • Strong leadership skills and having a “go-getter” attitude

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • A self-starter with a bias for action

  • A person of integrity, love for people, ethics, and upholding of Biblical principles.

  • Experience in maintaining and positioning startups for growth

  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, delegation, and meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to handle pressure and oversee various projects simultaneously


Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  •  Prior entertainment industry experience is preferred

  •  2-5 years experience in marketing, strategy, content development, and business development

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in Marketing and/or business administration required


Supervisory Information:

This role is a supervisory role within the Concept Factory core team and will have direct reports as

the team grows. This position reports directly to Allan Meade, Founder & Executive Director, and our

Board of Directors.


Travel Requirement:

This role may occasionally require traveling for business purposes.


Compensation Information:

This role is currently a volunteer position but has the possibility of becoming a paid Part-Time or

Full-Time role at the discretion and confirmation of the Board of Directors.
